How To Get Into Ketosis (And Get Back If You Got Kicked Out)
May 8, 2018A very easy and quick recipe for the ultimate keto pancakes that look and taste just like regular pancakes. You will never want to eat regular pancakes once you taste these.Â
If you are a fan of keto cakes and desserts, the chances are you will love the recipe for keto pancakes. My keto pancakes are a slightly modified version of regular pancakes. They are free of sugar, flour and are very low in carbs (less than 1 g of net carbs per one pancake).
What’s best about these keto pancakes is that they taste just as great (or even better) as regular pancakes. Thanks to their great fat-to-protein ratio, you can have them for dessert, lunch, differ or breakfast. They look awesome, don’t they?
By the way, who doesn’t want to have pancakes for breakfast? I knew this! Let me show you how to make these guys and have them on your plate within several minutes.
IngredientsÂ
Keto pancakes are made of only a few ingredients. The chances are you already have them at home.
- 30 g (1 oz)Â of butter (I used butter with 60% fat)
- 300 g (10 oz)Â of eggs (5 large eggs)
- 30 g (1 oz)Â of coconut flour
- 30 g (1 oz) of protein powder (whey protein)
- 50 g (1.8 oz) of heavy whipping cream (30% fat)
- 30 g (1 oz) of ghee (clarified butter) for frying
- A pinch of salt (Himalayan or sea salt)
- 10 g (0.4 oz) of baking powder
- A few drops of almond extract
- Half a glass of erythritol (either powdered or granular). You can also use liquid stevia or a blend of the two. Note that erythritol is less sweet than stevia so you may want to add more of it to achieve the same level of sweetness.
By following the below instructions you will come up with the basic version of ketogenic pancakes. Feel free to add more ingredients to change or improve the taste of your pancakes. If weight loss isn’t your goal, feel free to add more butter or go crazy with the topping (more about it later).
Instructions
- Add coconut flour and protein powder to a bigger bowl where you will be mixing all the ingredients.
- Add eggs and baking powder to the bowl.
- Dissolve butter and also add it to the mix.
- Pour heavy whipping cream to make your pancake batter more runny.
- Mix all the ingredients with a mixer until smooth.
PRACTICAL TIP: Feel free to change the order of these steps. You can start from mixing the eggs and then adding the remaining ingredients. It’s totally up to you.
- Now it’s time to fry your pancakes. I used a special pancake ring molds to make sure my pancakes are of a desired shape and thickness. I have stainless steel and silicone pancake ring molds.
- Slowly pour the pancake batter into the ring molds. Make sure to preheat the pan and pour the batter really slowly or it will go out of the ring and you will just have one huge pancake of the size of the frying pan.
- Once the bottom of your pancakes get a slightly brownish color, remove them from the ring mold and flip your pancakes.
- Fry your pancakes on the other side for a minute or two until the batter has set. Place your ready pancakes on a separate plate.
Serving Keto Pancakes
There are really tons of ways to serve your ketogenic pancakes. Below I’m showing you a few of my favorite ones.
Optional ingredients for topping:
- 1 ripe avocado
- 15 g (0.5 oz) of cacao powder
- A few drops of liquid stevia
- 15 g (0.5 oz) of peanut butter
- A few cubes of dissolved white sugar-free chocolate
Sauté Keto Pancakes
My keto pancakes are surprisingly delicious even without any topping. If you are on a weigh loss program, it’s a good idea to consume them in the sauté version.
Keto Pancakes With Avocado Nutella
This version of ketogenic pancakes tastes just like regular pancakes with Nutella. How do you make avocado Nutella? Simply blend one ripe avocado with 15-20 g of cacao powder and liquid stevia.
Keto Pancakes With Peanut Butter
This is my favorite version of ketogenic pancakes because I’m addicted to peanut butter. Seriously.
Keto Pancakes With Dissolved White Sugar-Free Chocolate
This one is crazy, looks crazy and tastes like heaven.
Ketogenic Pancakes With Dissolved White Sugar-Free Chocolate & Peanut Butter
If you want to add even more calories and more taste to the above version, feel free to do that with the help of peanut butter.

This is the full version and the most delicious one.

Ketogenic pancakes do exist. I prefer them to regular pancakes. Made them for my husband and he didn’t notice the difference LOL
Ketogenic pancakes are often made with protein powder instead of regular flour and this makes them taste even better than regular pancakes. That’s the beauty of a keto diet! Hoe can you now thrive on this diet and not love low-carb living? I have no idea 🙂
