Keto Chocolate Cheesecake (With Chocolate Crust, Chips & Topping)
November 25, 2019The keto hot chocolate recipe is a 3-ingredient recipe for the best hot chocolate you will ever have.
Milk and most low-fat dairy products are often out of the equation on a ketogenic diet because they have some carbs and these carbs like to add up super quickly. However, a few people are still OK consuming some amounts of milk without instantly hitting the weight loss plateau. Most folks (especially those wanting to burn fat), unfortunately, have to be careful with milk and dairy.
That’s why, I want to share with you the recipe for the keto hot chocolate which is undoubtedly one of the most delicious keto drinks of all time. My keto hot chocolate looks exactly like regular sweetened hot chocolate you can order at restaurants. The only difference is that its taste is much BETTER and my hot chocolate has practically no carbs and absolutely no sugar. It is also fairy-free. What’s more, one glass (330 ml) of keto hot chocolate has only 118 kcal and 2.8 g of carbs net. Can this even be true?
Ingredients
- 400 ml (13.5 fl oz) of coconut milk light. You can also use regular coconut milk which has more fat and calories (and is thicker overall).
- 35 g (1.2 oz) of cacao powder (unsweetened and, preferably, organic, non-GMO).
- 550 ml (18.5 fl oz) of hot water.
- A few drops of liquid stevia.
Instructions
- Boil water and let it cool down for a few minutes. It should be hot but not boiling.
- Pour hot water into a blending bowl (you can also pour cold water and heat the entire mix later). The sequence is totally up to you.
PRACTICAL TIP: Feel free to use more or less than 550 ml depending on how thick (and how dark) you want your hot chocolate to be. If you use regular coconut milk (which is thicker), you may need to use a bit more water if you want your hot chocolate to be more runny and less pudding-like.
- Pour coconut milk into a pot and heat it up. You don’t necessarily want to boil it. Just make sure it becomes hot.
PRACTICAL TIP: Feel free to use regular coconut milk which has more fat and calories. If serious weight loss isn’t your major goal, you can use regular coconut milk. It will naturally make your keto hot chocolate thicker and more pudding-like
- Pour hot coconut milk and hot water in the blending bowl.
PRACTICAL TIP: You can also pour cold water and cold coconut milk into one pot, heat it up and then pour the two ingredients into the blending bowl. Use the sequence that seems the most comfortable.
- Add cocoa powder to the bowl.
PRACTICAL TIP: Feel free to adjust the amount of cocoa powder depending on how chocolate and dense you want your hot chocolate to turn out.
- Add a few drops of liquid stevia to make your hot chocolate as sweet as regular hot (and sugary) chocolate. You can also add erythritol or a blend of stevia and erythritol (in the powder form like on the image below).
PRACTICAL TIP: Feel free to add as much as you like depending on how sweet you want your chocolate to be. I recommend using liquid stevia for this recipe because it will ideally blend into the drink.
- Blend your hot chocolate for several seconds until this yummy chocolate foam forms on the surface. You are blending it the way you blend your bulletproof coffee every morning.
- You can now pour your freshly-prepared keto hot chocolate into a glass and drink it all up.
- You can sprinkle the foam with cocoa powder to make your keto hot chocolate look even more spectacular.
- If you want your hot chocolate to become cold chocolate, just put it in the refrigerator for about an hour. Note that your chocolate drink may become a bit thicker and of pudding-like consistence after a few hours. If that’s the case, you can either mix the drink with a teaspoon or simply eat it with a spoon (like pudding).
- Bon appetit!

Your keto hot chocolate rules. I’m making it right now. My kids love it and they think it’s regular hot and sweetened chocolate while it’s not ?
I’m wanting to use your recipe for a large party. Can this be made the day before, refrigerate overnight and heated the next day? Thanks!
You have such great recipes!, trying to go dairy free.
